A Universally Great Day
Friday, October 12- What a difference a restful night makes! The team awoke this morning rested and energized for their first full day in Orlando. Team members Lee and Daryl beat everyone up this morning with TJ, Peter and Rafael taking the morning at a more leisurely pace. After a big breakfast, provided by their coaches at the training table, the Team was ready to take on the Universal Studios theme park.
After arriving at the park and getting their tickets, the team separated into two groups....those who ride and those who walk. Team members Daryl and TJ enjoyed several thrill rides including: Shrek 4-D, Twister, The Curse of the Mummy, Jaws, Earthquake and Men In Black. The walkers enjoyed shopping, the Blues Brothers outdoor musical review and a nice lunch.
At 4:00, the team moved from Universal Studios to the Disney Wide World of Sports complex for the athletes to be registered, weighed in and to have their equipment checked for the next days competition. All of the athletes passed muster and are now resting and laying out strategy for tomorrow's events.
The weather today has been beautiful and as several members of the team relax around the pool, we end the day rehashing the rides, shows and shopping experienced at Universal Studios. A Universally great day indeed!
